Carlos Bogan Secures Keiser's First Win of the Season

3

Keiser University recently issued the following announcement.

The Keiser wrestling (1-6, 1-4 MSC) team earned their first victory of the year with a win over Brewton-Parker(0-6, 0-3 MSC), 23-20, in dramatic fashion on Friday, January 21, at the Student Life Center.

By the end of the dual, every match had significant value. George Zertopoulis began at 157 with a pin over Levi Bishop in the second period. Adam El Damir and Earnest Johnson both picked up key major decisions in their respective bouts. Hayden Malson won in his debut for the Seahawks in a decision decided by riding time. After a Bryce Gonzalez decision win at 133, Carlos Bogan defeated Kohlby Hopper in the final match of the night to secure the win for Keiser.

COACH'S CORNER

"First win feels great," said Head Coach, Nick Soto. "We kept our composure and things went our way tonight. We left some points on the board in matches where we could have gotten bonus points to really spread the score out, but our best wrestling is still ahead of us. We'll get back in the room, make some adjustments, and continue to get ready for next week. We're one week closer to the postseason and every match counts."
