Miami City Commission plans October meeting with options for public participation

A meeting of the Miami City Commission is set for Thursday, October 24, 2024, at 9:00 a.m. It will take place in the City Commission chambers at Miami City Hall, located at 3500 Pan American Drive, Miami, FL 33133.

The meeting will be broadcast live on various platforms including the City's website, Facebook, Twitter (X), YouTube, Comcast Channel 77 for residents within Miami city limits, and AT&T Channel 99 also for local residents.

Public comments on agenda items can be submitted through an online form and will be shared with elected officials and city administration as part of the public record. The deadline to submit these comments is when the Chairperson closes public comment during the meeting. Alternatively, comments can be made in person at City Hall starting around 9:00 a.m., following any rules or procedures set by the City.

Anyone wishing to appeal a decision made by the City Commission must ensure that a verbatim record of proceedings is kept as per F.S. 286.0105.

According to Miami City Code Section 2-33(o), if a scheduled meeting is canceled due to lack of quorum or other emergencies, a special meeting will automatically occur on Tuesday immediately after the canceled session. This special meeting would take place on October 29, 2024, at the same location and time as regular meetings. All agenda items from the canceled session would carry over to this special meeting.

In line with the Americans with Disabilities Act of 1990, individuals requiring accommodations should contact the Office of the City Clerk at (305) 250-5361 no later than three business days before the event. TTY users may call via Florida Relay Service by dialing 711 within the same timeframe.
