The City of Miami has issued a public notice regarding a potential conflict of interest involving the Home Investment Partnership Program, commonly known as "HOME." According to the notice dated March 31, 2025, the city is providing down-payment assistance to Ms. Stacey P. Dean as part of the First Time Home Buyer Program. The assistance is intended for the purchase of a single-family home within the city.

Ms. Dean is currently employed as an Automotive Equipment Operator II within the City of Miami's Department of Resilience and Public Works. Due to her position, there may be a potential conflict of interest under the regulations outlined in 24 CFR Part 92.356.

The City of Miami's Department of Housing & Community Development is considering applying for an exception with the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) should a conflict be confirmed. This exception would address concerns regarding the potential conflict tied to Ms. Dean's employment and the financial assistance she is set to receive.
