Miami's solid waste department announces holiday closure and service rescheduling

The City of Miami Department of Solid Waste will not operate on Martin Luther King Jr. Day, January 20th. Services for garbage, recycling, and bulky trash will resume the following day, Tuesday, January 21st. Residents with recycling services scheduled for the third Monday of the month will have their collection moved to Wednesday, January 22nd.

Residents are advised to keep their trash until the next pickup day and place items curbside at least five feet from any objects 24 hours before collection.

The Mini Dump Facility at 1290 NW 20th Street will also be closed on Martin Luther King Jr. Day and reopen on Tuesday, January 21st, from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Proof of residency in the City of Miami is required for access.
