The City of Miami, in collaboration with Adler Development, has announced the commencement of construction on a new government administration building. This development is part of the larger Miami Freedom Park project, a 130-acre mixed-use site that will include Inter Miami CF's new soccer stadium. The groundbreaking event took place at 1802 NW 37th Ave following the State of the City Address by Mayor Francis X. Suarez.
Scheduled for completion in 2027, the building will be an eight-story facility featuring government offices and a parking garage for up to 889 vehicles. It will cover over 382,592 square feet on city-owned land near Miami International Airport. An official ceremony to commemorate this milestone is planned for January 15 at the construction site.
David Adler, CEO of Adler Development, expressed his enthusiasm: "Today marks a defining moment as we break ground on the new City of Miami administration building." He emphasized the significance of the public-private partnership between the City of Miami and Adler Development in realizing this vision.
Arquitectonica is responsible for designing the building, which aims to encourage interaction between its occupants and visitors to the adjacent 58-acre public park. Moss Construction has been appointed as the general contractor.
Mayor Francis Suarez highlighted the importance of this project: “This groundbreaking represents the future of Miami’s administration, symbolizing the limitless potential of our city’s forward-thinking vision.”
City Manager Art Noriega V also commented on this significant step: “Today marks a significant milestone in our journey to better serve the residents of Miami."
