City Manager Announces Promotions & Appointment to Leadership Team

City Manager Art Noriega V has announced the promotion of Natasha Colebrook-Williams to the position of Deputy City Manager, the promotion of Asael Marrero to the position of Assistant City Manager of Infrastructure, the appointment of Barbara Hernandez as Assistant City Manager of Operations, and the appointment of Deputy Fire Chief Robert Hevia to the position of Fire Chief.

According to the announcement, Mrs. Colebrook-Williams brings with her over twenty (20) years of experience in local government administration and non-profit organizational leadership. She has served in various capacities, including Chief of Staff for the City of North Miami City Manager and Interim Director of the Museum of Contemporary Art in North Miami.

Mr. Marrero, on the other hand, holds a bachelor’s degree in Architecture and Architectural Studies and has over twenty-five (25) years of professional supervisory experience in the architecture/engineering, construction, and permitting field. He has served in management roles in both County and City government, including as the Miami-Dade County Division Director for Design and Construction Services.

Mrs. Hernandez, with bachelor's and master's degrees in Public Administration, brings twenty-one (21) years of experience in public administration at the municipal level. She has previously held positions such as Director for the City of Doral's Parks and Recreation Department and City Manager of Doral.

Deputy Chief Hevia, who holds a Master of Business Administration and Doctor of Nursing Practice degree, has been appointed as the Fire Chief. He has a wealth of experience in firefighting and emergency management, having held key positions from Firefighter to Chief Fire Officer.

In a statement, City Manager Art Noriega V expressed congratulations to Mrs. Colebrook-Williams, Mr. Marrero, and Chief Hevia on their promotions, and welcomed Mrs. Hernandez back to the City of Miami in her new role.
