City Manager Art Noriega is pleased to announce the promotion of Mr. Chris Evans to the position of Director of the Parks and Recreation Department. He has 16 years of experience in recreation and leisure management.
In his previous role as Assistant Director of Operations, Chris demonstrated his expertise in park management and his deep understanding of the importance of green spaces in improving the quality of life for residents and park visitors. He has worked in various municipalities across Florida, including Pensacola, Tallahassee, and Orlando, in addition to significant contributions as the Youth Sports Development Manager for the Miami-Dade County Parks, Recreation, and Open Spaces Department.
Mr. Evans holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Recreation and Leisure Services Administration from Florida State University and has received two National Association of Counties (NACo) Innovation Awards. He also served on the Board of Trustees and as the National President of the Young Alumni Council.
We welcome Mr. Chris Evans to his new role as Director of the Parks and Recreation Department. His visionary leadership and passion for creating vibrant community spaces will undoubtedly contribute to the continued growth and well-being of the City of Miami.
