Ring in the New Year with Transit | County of Miami-Dade

Miami-Dade Transit, including STS, will run regular weekend service on Saturday, Dec. 31 and Sunday, Jan. 1, 2023. The following is the complete service and office schedule during the New Year’s weekend.

Service schedule

  • Saturday, Dec. 31 and Sunday, Jan. 1 - Metrobus, Metrorail and Metromover will operate on a regular weekend schedule.
  • Monday, Jan. 2 - Metrobus, Metrorail and Metromover will operate on regular weekday schedule.
Extended service hours on New Year’s Eve 

  • Those attending celebrations in Downtown Miami New Year’s Eve should note that after 8:30 p.m., on Saturday, Metrorail will have a 30-minute frequency. This service will be extended until 2 a.m. on Sunday, Jan. 1, 2023.
  • The last northbound and southbound trains will depart from the Government Center Station at approximately 2 a.m. Entry to Metrorail stations will not be permitted after 2 a.m., only exiting.
  • Metromover service also will be extended until approximately 2 a.m. on Sunday, Jan. 1, 2023. Parking facilities at Metrorail stations will remain open through the following day, Sunday, Jan. 1, until 3 a.m.
Miami-Dade County administrative offices   

  • Monday, January 2 - Miami-Dade County offices will be closed, including all DTPW’s administrative offices, Customer Service offices, Transit Service Centers, Special Transportation Services (STS) and the Golden Passport Office at the Stephen P. Clark Center.
  • STS customers can still call the STS reservation number at 305-871-1111 to reserve or cancel an STS trip.
