Project Green Light is a police-community partnership that focuses on improving community safety and promoting business growth by utilizing advanced video technology and actionable intelligence in real-time to assist the Miami-Dade Police Department (MDPD) in their efforts to deter, prevent and solve crime.
The program partners with property owners in high-crime areas by installing real-time cameras at their locations. The cameras have high-speed network connections that enable consistent video streaming to MDPD headquarters. By installing real-time cameras at each Project Green Light location, MDPD can access and review video to improve community safety.
Project Green Light will include incentives for businesses that participate and help to subsidize cost. In Detroit, the pilot program reduced crime by 40 percent.
More information about the program is coming soon.
