Bobcats Top Performers at Ansin Spring Break Invitational

St. Thomas University recently issued the following announcement.

St. Thomas University (STU) Track & Field compete at the second meet "Ansin Invitational" of the 2022 season on Tuesday from the Ansin Sports Complex. Other Universities competing in the "Ansin Spring Break Invitational" included St. Thomas Aquinas, Palm Beach Atlantic, and Florida National University, Warner, Keiser University and Nova Southeastern.

The Bobcats performed phenomenal at the "Ansin Sring Break Invitational" Pamela Sanders-Booker ran the 100-meter dash and placed second with a time of 12.40 seconds, and right behind her was her teammate Megan Sprinkman coming in third place. Sander-Booker also ran the 200-meter dash and came out with a time of 25.35 seconds and Sprinkman with a time of 26.84 seconds.

The 400-meter dash were top 3 performers. Placing second was the incoming transfer Maya-Angela running a time of 1:01.03, and placing fourth was Jada Blackheart with a time of 1:02.01 and coming in sixth was Camille Barron with running 1:04.29.

The Bobcats came first in the 4x100 meter dash and the team consisted of Dai'ja Thompson, Pamela Sanders-Booker, Megan Sprinkman, and Jameka Chisholm with a time of 50.31 seconds.

The Bobcats also made some noise in the field events. Toynelle Ming placed first in shot put hitting a mark of 11.62 meters, Dekoya Hodge came second with a mark of 10.95 meters and placed second in javelin with 30.39 meters, and to close of the event in third was Samantha Narvaez with a mark of 10.39 meters and came first in javelin throwing 32.50 meters.

The Bobcats will be hosting their second "Bobcat 5 Way" meet at Monsignor Edward Pace High School on March 18th, 2020.
