Miami Dade County issued the following announcement on Oct. 8.
Miami-Dade County and the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Jacksonville District (USACE), in coordination with Bal Harbour Village, will host a virtual public meeting at 6 p.m., Tuesday, Oct. 12, to discuss the upcoming Bal Harbour beach renourishment project. The project is scheduled to start this November.
This meeting will provide you an opportunity to address the scope of work for the project, future efforts public safety and other concerns you may have.
For the project, the contractor will place 110,00 cubic yards of beach-quality sand from an upland source, as well as 90,000 cubic yards dredged from the Baker's Haulover flood shoal complex, along the critically eroded shoreline of the
Village of Bal Harbour.
