Florida International University Athletics recently issued the following announcement.
The Panther running back lands on another watch list.
FIU's D'vonte Price was named to Senior Bowl Watch List, the committee announced on Thursday.
Price is the first Panther to be named to the watch list since Sage Lewis and James Morgan in 2019.
In his first full season as the primary tailback, Price rushed for 581 yards on 85 carries with four touchdowns along the way to being named to 2020 Conference USA honorable mention team. Price's 6.84 yards per carry topped the league and ranked 11th-best in the country in 2020.
Price rushed for over 100 yards in four of FIU's five games during the 2020 season including a career-high 178 yard performance against Florida Atlantic. The 178 yards was the eighth-best rushing outing by any Panther in FIU program history.
The Punta Gorda, Florida, native, set the FIU record for most rush yards per game in a season by averaging 116.2 yards per game in 2020.
The Reese's Senior Bowl is the nation's most prestigious college all-star game, as it annually serves as the first step of the NFL Draft process, which explains the hashtag, #TheDraftStartsInMOBILE. The Reese's Senior Bowl had 106 total players drafted and 36 selected in the first three rounds this year's NFL Draft. The 106 figure represents 41% of the NFL Draft. This year's game will be held February 5, 2022 and broadcast on the NFL Network. Practices will be live on ESPN and NFL Network hosts a daily recap show each evening in primetime.
The Panthers begin the 2021 season when the FIU welcomes Long Island to FIU Stadium on Sept. 2. Kickoff is set for 7 p.m. ET.
