WHEN:
9 a.m. Saturday, September 11
WHY:
Like the other date that will live in infamy, September 11, 2001 was a watershed event in our nation’s history. Those attacks on the U.S. galvanized the American people like nothing since World War II.
Fast forward 20 years and today’s generation, while they live in a post 9/11 world, have no memory of the tragic events of that day. As a way to keep the memory alive and honor those who we lost on that day, as well as those who gave the “last full measure of devotion” in the years since, it is vital that we take time to remember them and what happened 20 years ago.
This memorial event, which is free and open to the community, features a parade of police motorcycle units, mounted police, honor and color guards, dignitaries and guest speakers, veterans and military and first-responder vehicles on site and so much more.
