Following one of the most successful athletic years in the history of Nova Southeastern Athletics, the Sharks returned to competition and opened the 2022-23 seasons hungry for more. NSU athletics return home, as the third-ranked Men’s Soccer teams hosts Lenoir-Rhyne on Thursday, Sept. 1 and the 23rd ranked Volleyball program hosts its 14th annual Shark Invitational, beginning on 9/2.

Women’s Volleyball:
Last Week: W, 3-0 vs. Concord; W, 3-0 vs. West Virginia Wesleyan; W, 3-1 vs. Mount Olive; W, 3-1 vs. North Greenville
This Week: 2022 NSU Shark Invitational at Rick Case Arena – Friday, September 2 vs. Shaw (7 p.m.); Saturday, September 3 vs. American International (1 p.m.) and Slippery Rock (4:30 p.m.)
 
Men’s Soccer
Last Week: W, 2-0 at Anderson; Tie, 1-1 vs. Coker
This Week: Home Opener vs. Lenoir-Rhyne (NC) – Thursday, September 1 at 6 p.m.; Away at St. Thomas – Sunday, September 4 at 7 p.m.
 
Women’s Soccer
Last Season: In its first season under new head coach James Moore, the women’s soccer team picked up 8 wins, 7 losses and a draw. In the postseason, NSU dropped its first-round matchup with Florida Tech in the Sunshine State Conference Tournament, ending its season. Two players were recognized as All-SSC players, and both will be returning to the field in 2022 for the Sharks. Sophomore defender Louise Matsgard was named All-SSC first team and junior midfielder Chama Silva was named to the second team.
This Week: Regular Season Opener vs. King (TN) – Thursday, September 1 at 7 p.m.; Away vs. Carson-Newman (TN) – Saturday, September 3 at 7 p.m.

Cross Country
Last Week: STU Bobcat Invitational – Men’s Cross Country – Joseph Salerno (1st/16:02.90); Women’s Cross Country – Kamila Soja (1st/19:10.82) – Women’s team recorded a perfect score
This Week: IDLE
