5.1% of citizens unemployed in Miami-Dade County in 2021

Miami-Dade County recorded an unemployment rate of 5.1% among residents aged 16 and 65 years old in 2021. That’s 71,662 people out of the 2,690,113 living in Miami-Dade County at the time, according to data obtained from the U.S. Census Bureau.

The unemployment rate in Miami-Dade County has increased compared to the 5% registered in 2020.

The percentage of people unemployed in Miami-Dade County was less than the statewide unemployment rate of 5.3%.

Of the 1,331,939 people who had a job during that time, 2,146 were employed in the Armed Forces and 1,329,793 belonged to the civilian labor force.
