Men's Basketball Exits Eckerd with Loss

The Barry University men's basketball team dropped its third straight with a 70-62 loss on the road to the Tritons of Eckerd College in Sunshine State Conference (SSC) action Wednesday evening at the McArthur Center in St. Petersburg, Florida.

INSIDE THE MATCHUP

Final:  Eckerd 70, Barry 62

Records: Barry (6-7, 2-6 SSC), Eckerd (6-8, 3-5 SSC)

All-Time Series: Tritons lead, 46-37, and end a five-game slide against the Buccaneers.

SUMMARY:

  • 1H - Eckerd got off to a 6-0 start before Nick Anderson and OT Delancy hit consecutive 3-pointers. Isaiah Washington's 3-pointer at 9:25 boosted the Buccaneers into a 23-21 lead. NOTEWORTHY:

  • Isaiah Washington grabbed a game-high 10 rebounds.
  • Barry had a slight edge in points off turnovers, 19-18.
  • Eckerd enjoyed a 13-7 advantage in second-chance points.
  • Tyler Hawkins (15), Nick Anderosn (13), and Malik Stanley (11) each scored in double-digits for the Buccaneers.
  • Adren Roberts had two blocked shots and three steals.
ON THE HORIZON:

Barry travels to Boca Raton, Fla., on Saturday (4 p.m.) to face Lynn University.
