A 21-point, 18-rebound game for Justin Tucker guided the Seahawks to their eighth win of the season on Thursday night, 72-56.

TURNING POINT

Keiser opened the game with an 8-0 run and never looked back on their first wire-to-wire win since the opener against Morris College. 

FIRST HALF

Keiser 39, Brewton-Parker 30

  • Shaquille Harris began the scoring for the Seahawks after just a minute of action leading to an 8-0 KU run to start the game.
  • Keiser held the Barons scoreless for the first seven minutes of the game before Brewton-Parker hit a three-pointer.
  • Core'von Lott would score five of the next 11 points as the Seahawks extended their lead to 19-7 with 9:14 remaining in the half.
  • Brewton-Parker began to find their shooting as they hit five of their next six shots but Keiser would go 4-of-4 to keep the lead comfortable at 28-19 with 6:27 in the first.
  • Keiser would continue to surge forward as Christian Miller-Cardwell scored five of his seven first-half points in three minutes to put KU up 15, 39-24.
  • The Barons went on to score the final six points of the first half to cut the lead to 39-30 going into the break. 
SECOND HALF

Keiser 72, Brewton-Parker 56

  • Keiser started the second half on a strong note with Harris and Justin Tucker hitting layups to extend the Keiser lead.
  • Tucker pulled down his 10th rebound of the night and followed up with his 11th point on a layup to secure his third double-double of the season at the 15:25 mark.
  • Lance Smith tried to take the game into his own hands for the Barons scoring the next six points to cut the lead to 46-37 with 14:06 showing.
  • Keiser followed up with a 9-2 run capped by Brandon Farmer's 10th point on a three-pointer from range.
  • The Barons answered with their strongest run of the night, cutting the Seahawks' lead down to just seven with 8:43 on the clock.
  • Brandon Younger responded with two baskets of his own, giving Keiser a 59-48 lead with 6:50 to play.
  • Following a Brewton-Parker trey, Tucker put home two more baskets to bring the Keiser lead back to 12.
  • The Seahawks would close out the game on a 9-5 run to collect their third win in four games, 72-56. 

GAME NOTES

  • Keiser improves to 1-0 all-time against the Barons.
  • The Seahawks are now 30-13 all-time against schools from the state of Georgia.
INSIDE THE BOX

  • Justin Tucker was a force all game long with 21 points and a season-high 18 boards on the night.
