Deniz Khazan Falls In ITA National Fall Championships Round of 16

Khazan was the first Barry men's or women's tennis player to win at the D1 tournament with her victory yesterday

Deniz Khazan lost to Carson Tanguilig (North Carolina) 6-3, 3-6, 0-6, in the round of 16, in the women's singles bracket, at the ITA National Fall Championships at the Barnes Tennis Center on Thursday, Nov. 3. Tanguilig was ranked 28th in the division one preseason newcomer rankings. 

The ITA Fall National Championships are the grand finale of the fall collegiate tennis season and features 64 of the nation's top collegiate singles players (32 men and 32 women) and also 64 doubles team (32 men's teams and 32 women's teams).

Khazan was the lone Division II player in the women's singles bracket and picked up the first win in Barry's men's and women's tennis history at the Division 1 tournament yesterday in the round of 32.
