Women's Draws 2-2 With Eckerd

The Barry Buccaneers got a goal from McKenna Delong to salvage a 2-2 tie with the Eckerd Tritons in Sunshine State Conference women's soccer action on Thursday afternoon at Buccaneer Field, in a game that was postponed from Wednesday.

Records: Barry (7-3-4, 2-2-4 SSC), Eckerd (4-5-2, 1-4-2 SSC)

All-Time Series: Barry leads 27-3-2

SUMMARY:

  • 18:59 - The Tritons got on the board first, on their first shot of the game. Brooke Bisko won the ball in the corner of the penalty box and passed it out to Kaia Senecal at the top. Senecal chipped it over keeper Emily Parrott's head for the tally.   | Eckerd 1 Barry 0
  • 27:44 - Eckerd took advantage of a set piece after a Buccaneer foul. Aisling Spillane sent a ball into the box, finding Annie Stook unmarked for the header to the far post. | Eckerd 2, Barry 0
  • 36:39 - Barry trimmed the lead to one on a goal by Maya Campion. The Tritons tried to play back to keeper Cadence Talbert, but Campion stepped in to swipe the ball and poked it into the Triton net. | Eckerd 2, Barry 1
  • 74:29 - As they have the last three games, the Bucs got the equalizer late in the game. Linea Jørgensen sent a lng pass down the right side to Drew Dempsey. Dempsey sent a cross into the box, over the head of Talbert and Delong got on the end of it for the goal. | Barry 2, Eckerd 2
NOTEWORTHY:

  • The Bucs out-shot the Tritons 10-6, including just one shot for Eckerd in the second half. 
  • Parrott had three saves in the game for the Bucs.
  • Talbert had five saves for Eckerd.
  • It was the fourth straight draw for the Bucs. 
ON THE HORIZON:

The Bucs visit Florida Southern on Saturday, Oct. 22.
