The St. Thomas University (STU) Women's Basketball team under the lead of Head Coach Candace Walker releases their 2022-2023 basketball schedule. The Bobcats have an exciting year ahead with the always tough Sun Conference play, and challenging non-Conference play.
The Bobcats will open up the season in the Fernandez Family Center (FFC) going up against the University of the Virgin Islands. A few days later, the Bobcats are put to a huge test and will travel to Boca Raton, Fla. to face off against NCAA Division 1 opponent Florida Atlantic University in an exhibition match up. After that huge test, STU will be a long way from home to compete in the SSAC/Sun Crossover Challenge. The Bobcats will tip off against Middle Georgia State University first, followed by Brewton-Parker College both in Montgomery, Alabama.
To open up Sun Conference play for the Bobcats is no other than Florida Memorial which is on the road, in the first Battle of Miami Gardens of the year. With a little time in between, STU returns home to take on the Seahawks of Keiser University for the first home Conference game of the season. Hitting the road STU will drive up to Lake Wales, Fla. to clash with Warner University.
The next two games for STU will take place at home, and are non-conference. Kansas Christian College is first followed by Florida National University. The Bobcats hop right back into conference play heading up north to Georgia to face College of Coastal Georgia and Thomas University two days apart. Returning home the cats will go on a two-game home stand, going up against University of Fort Lauderdale, and Mount Vernon Nazarene University all the way from Ohio.
Getting to the middle of the season, the Bobcats will compete in back-to-back tournaments with one home game in between. Traveling to West Palm Beach first for the West Palm Invitational, where they will play the University of Saint Francis and Brescia University. Before the STU Holiday Invitational the Bobcats will face Indiana Wesleyan University in the FFC. In the STU Holiday Invitational the cats will compete against Lindsey Wilson College and Campbellsville University both from Kentucky.
The remainder of the season is Sun Conference play, starting with a short drive to Ave Maria, Fla. to go up against Ave Maria University. Returning home, STU will have a four-game home stand, the first being the fire of Southeastern University. Webber International is next followed by Florida Memorial in another Battle of Miami Gardens. Rounding out the home stand are the Royals from Warner University. STU will be in West Palm Beach for the next one for a key game against Keiser University.
The two Georgia teams in the Sun Conference travel to Miami Gardens for the next two games. Thomas University first followed by the College of Coastal Georgia. Next for the Bobcats is Southeastern, which will take place in Lakeland, Fla. Then the Bobcats will return home for the final home game of the season against Ave Maria University. In the final regular season game of the year, STU will be on the road to take on Webber International in Babson Park, Fla.
