Men's Basketball Announces Additions to Coaching Staff

Keiser head basketball coach Marcus "Chief" Bryant has announced the additions of Andre Johnson, Seth Gerdine, and Bryan Markovic to his staff.

Johnson will serve as an assistant coach with a focus in player development. Prior to Keiser, Johnson was the head basketball coach at his alma mater, Booker High School. He also served on the Keiser basketball staff in the 2020-21 season as the graduate assistant.

"I am so excited to welcome Dre back to Keiser University," said Head Coach, Marcus "Chief" Bryant. "He's a tireless worker who has a very strong passion for the game and a keen understanding of what it takes to be a resource to our players. We haven't had a game yet, but it already feels like we're starting to win now that he's on our staff."

Gerdine will also serve as an assistant and will take the responsibilities as the head coach of the developmental team. He joins with 16 years of coaching experience with his most recent stint at Azusa Pacific. The Chino Hills, California native also has a history of player development, running his own skill training business for over 10 years.

"We are very fortunate to add Seth to our coaching staff," said Bryant. "He brings a wealth of knowledge in terms of player development, recruiting, game scout, and much more. I'm looking forward to having him on our sideline and bringing success back to our program."

Markovic is a recent graduate of the University of Florida with a bachelor's degree in sports management and a minor in business.

"I am certainly looking forward to having Bryan's positive energy in our gym," said Bryant. "It only took one conversation before I knew he was the right coach for the job. His willing to learn from the coaches and guide our players will put us back on track to success."
