Sharks Place 113 on 2022 Spring SSC Commissioner’s Honor Roll

The Sunshine State Conference announced the Spring 2022 Commissioner's Honor Roll, presented by Barnes & Noble College, on Wednesday as a notable 113 student-athletes were recognized from Nova Southeastern, 19 of which earned perfect 4.00 grade-point averages.

Overall, 1,616 student-athletes across the league were named to the list, including a notable 354 with semester-long GPAs of 4.0. The 2022 numbers mark the third time in which the SSC has recognized over 1,600 total student-athletes and over 350 with perfect GPAs on the Spring Honor Roll. The record of 1,819 SSC Spring Honor Roll recipients and 517 perfect GPAs was set in the spring of 2020.

This past semester, NSU student-athletes posted a department-wide GPA of 3.39 to help deliver an impressive 3.41 GPA for the 2021-22 academic year.

To be eligible for the Spring SSC Commissioner's Honor Roll, a student-athlete must post a minimum GPA of 3.20 on a scale of 4.00. Participants in the sports of men's and women's basketball, men's and women's swimming, men's and women's golf, men's and women's tennis, men's and women's lacrosse, women's rowing, baseball, and softball are eligible for the Spring Honor Roll.

Having won 117 NCAA Division II National Championships since the league was founded in 1975, the SSC's student-athletes have proven successful in competition in addition to the classroom. SSC student-athletes achieved an 88% Academic Success Rate (ASR) in 2020-21, breaking a 10-year streak of 86% Academic Success Rates. The SSC ranked second among NCAA Division II conferences in 2020-21 ASR and has never fallen below that mark in the metric's 16-year history.
