The Greater Miami Chamber of Commerce announces 21st Annual Nonprofit Business, NOVO Awards, which are open to not-for-profit organizations and recognize programs and individuals that have made a difference in the lives of the people they serve, produce outcomes that exemplify innovative excellence, and feature best practices of not-for-profit businesses. All Miami-Dade County nonprofits are encouraged to apply (the nonprofit does not need to be a member of The Chamber). Deadline for submitting entries is Friday, June 10, 2022.
Awards are presented in three categories:
1. Nonprofit program innovative excellence (nonprofits with an organizational budget of less than $2 million.
2. Nonprofit program innovative excellence (nonprofit with an organizational budget of $2 million and above.
3. Outstanding Board Leader which exemplifies the best in nonprofit board service.
Nominations will be reviewed, and final selection made by a panel of judges. The top three finalists from each category will be recognized at the Greater Miami Chamber of Commerce Trustee Luncheon on Wednesday, September 7, 2022. All finalists will be invited to attend.
A cash award of $1,000 will be presented to the top finalist in each category. Two winners will be chosen in the innovative program award category: one for nonprofits with an organizational budget of less than $2 million, and one for nonprofits with an organizational budget of $2 million and above. One winner will be selected in the Outstanding Board Leader category whose volunteer leadership exemplifies the best in nonprofit board service.
ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS
Applications may be submitted by the nonprofit organization or by third- party nomination. The organization must be headquartered or have operations in Miami-Dade County. The organization must be a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization. Only one entry per organization may be submitted. Program must be a current program being offered by the nonprofit. Only applications that meet all the requirements/criteria will be considered.
All entries must be received by the deadline and include properly completed application; copy of the organization’s 501(c)(3) IRS Determination Letter; optional one letter of support per award category.
