3

St. Thomas University recently issued the following announcement.

The St. Thomas University Women's Flag Football team (4-3, 3-3 SUN) got back on track with Sun Conference action on the road against Thomas University (9-1, 5-1 SUN). The Bobcats fell just short 13-0 after giving up two costly scores in the first quarter. The teams split the season series after the Bobcats took game overtime earlier on the year.

 Game Notes

Thomas got the scoring early finding the end zone in their first offensive possession of the game. Anquincia Jones denies the extra point attempt pulling the Nighthawk flag at the one-yard line. Julianne Yulkowski got her first start as the quarterback for the Bobcats this game.

After trailing 13-0 at the end of the first quarter the defense settled in and found their routine shutting down the Nighthawks offense in the second quarter. Jones and Dejonice Parris led the way as Jones had five flag pulls and Parris had three quarterback hurries at the half.

The third quarter was silent for both sides as the top defenses showed off and shutdown both offenses.

The fourth quarter had a spark as Miranda Ferradaz intercepted a flea flicker pass and took it back to the five-yard line for a 40-yard return. St. Thomas was unable to capitalize on the red zone possession.

After the first quarter, the Bobcats defense shutout the Nighthawks for the remaining 36-minutes.
