St. Thomas University recently issued the following announcement.
St. Thomas University (STU) Track & Field compete at the first meet "Ansin Invitational" of the 2022 season on Saturday from the Ansin Sports Complex. Other Universities
competing in the "Ansin Invitational" included Lynn University, Nova Southeastern University, and Florida National University, Embry-Riddle and Florida Tech.
The Bobcats top performers were Isaac Joseph who opened to the season with a 10.73 in the 100-meter dash and a 22.15 in the 200-meter dash, new addition to the Bobcats
team Guillaume Richards ran a 11.05 in the 100 meter, and Zion Roberts who opened his college career with 11.35 in the 100-meter dash and 22.94 in the 200-meters.
Freshman Michael Smikle started his college season with a time of 1:58.13 in the 800-meter dash placing him second at the Ansin meet. Jonah Hill jumped 1.75m meter/5' 8.75 in
the high jump and 5.86 meters in the long jump, placing second in both events.
Chapman Charles for the first time in his collegiate track career threw 10.13 meter in the shot put and placed third and to close of the meet the men's 4x400 meter (Isaiah Hunter,
Michael Smikle, Marvin Williams, Dennis Drummonds) placed 3:27.89 and placed second out of 5 teams.
Next Meet: The Bobcats will be hosting their first "Bobcat 5 Way" meet at Monsignor Edward Pace High School on March 4th, 2020.
