St. Thomas University recently issued the following announcement.
The St. Thomas University (STU) Men's Basketball team (4-5, 2-3 SUN) is set to play NCAA Division I Florida International University (8-3) to ring in the new year on Saturday, January 1, 2022. The game will be played at the Ocean Bank Convocation Center at 2 p.m.
Both teams will be coming off a big hiatus of not playing games, STU since December 4 and FIU since December 15, but both will get one under their belt on December 30th before the matchup. St. Thomas is currently on a two-game winning streak while Florida International is on a two-game losing streak.
This marks the return for guard, Cameron Corcoran, who just transferred to St. Thomas from Florida International. This will be the first Division I game under new head coach, Patrick E. Crarey. This gives the Bobcats two games under their belt before heading back into conference play on January 6 at home against Ave Maria.
