Bucs shoot lights out in first road test
In their first road test of the season, the Barry Buccaneers proved up to the task, beating Rollins in Warden Arena 71-50 on Saturday.

- 1Q - Barry led 8-6 with 5:44 left in the period, but clamped down the defense to close the frame on an 18-4 run. The Bucs hit 8-of-9 from the floor over the run, including five three-pointers. | Bucs 26, Tars 12
- 2Q - Barry continued its run early in the second period, pushing the lead to 19 points, 38-19 on a triple by Camilla Flefil with 4:23 remaining. But the Tars closed the gap with an 8-2 run, hitting their last four shots from the field. | Bucs 40, Tars 25 22
- 3Q - Trinity Bosecker and Harriet Swindells keyed an 11-0 run coming out of the locker room, pushing the lead to 26 points on a layup by Swindells with 6:25 to play. The Tars missed their last five shots from the field as Barry closed the period with a 20+ lead. | Bucs 58, Tars 32
- 4Q - The Bucs went heavily to the bench in the fourth quarter with the big lead, but the Tars could make little headway. Barry starters combined for just five points in 17 minutes, but the bench responded with eight points to hold onto the 20-point edge. Lucy Leen did her part to try to shoot the Tars back into it, hitting 4-for-4 from the field, including three shots beyond the arc, but it wasn't enough as her teammates combined for just 3-for-12 shooting. | Bucs 71, Tars 50
- Boscker led the Bucs with 14 points and nine rebounds in just 19 minutes of play.
- Swindells added 10 points and four assists as the Bucs produced a balanced attack. In all, 11 Bucs got on the scoreboard of the 14 who played.
- Leen led the Tars with a game-high 21, but was the only player in double figures. Only seven of the 13 Tars to play cracked the scoreboard.
- Rollins' starters only contributed 11 points on the game.
- Barry held a comfortable 40-31 edge on the glass and shot 52 percent from the field and 47 percent from three-point range.
Barry visits cross-town rival Florida Memorial on Tuesday, then hosts a pair of non-conference game next weekend, facing Findlay on Saturday and Dominican out of New York on Sunday. Both games scheduled for 12:00 noon before taking off for the break.
