Men's Soccer Loses To Tampa In SSC Semifinal

Barry University issued the following announcement on Nov. 11.

Toby Fura scored for the Bucs

The Barry Buccaneers lost 2-1 to the ninth-ranked Tampa Spartans in the semifinals of the Sunshine State Conference men's soccer tournament at Pepin Stadium on Thursday night.

39:47 - Barry got on the board first. Juan Caffaro sailed a cross from the right corner of the box to the far post where Toby Fura ran on unmarked to score past Tampa keeper Adam Foster. | Barry 1, Tampa 0

57:50 - The lead held up into the second half, but in the 58th minute, Amgad Salah took a pass from Travis Foster and scored the equalizer. | Barry 1, Tampa 1

79:00 - In the 79th minute, the Spartan tandem of Omar Thali and Juancho Fernandez combined to score the game-winner. | Tampa 2, Barry 1

NOTEWORTHY:

Nils Buecheler took the loss for the Bucs, dropping to 6-6-1 on the season. He had four saves on the Spartans' six shots on goal.

Adam Foster had one save for the Spartans to earn the win.

ON THE HORIZON:

This was the final game of the season for the Bucs.
