Volleyball Sinks the Mariners on Senior Day, 3-2

Keiser University issued the following announcement on Nov. 9.

Match Score: Keiser 3, Coastal Georgia 2

Set Scores: 25-17, 23-25, 25-12, 16-25, 19-17

Records: Keiser (17-21, 7-7 SUN), Coastal Georgia (22-7, 7-7 SUN)

Location: Student Life Center (West Palm Beach, Fla.)

The Seahawks ended the 2021 regular season with a 3-2 win over Coastal Georgia on Saturday. KU registered a season-high 73 kills in the five-set victory as Head Coach James Rogers picked up win No. 100 at Keiser.

Prior to the match, KU recognized nine seniors (Stephanie Bray, Cristina Buckley, Ryelle Cox, Amber Dilsaver, Jaide Geiman, Samantha Lopez Cruz, Shaniah Paleafei, Brooklyn VandeHei, Vanessa Warth) who competed in the final home match of their Seahawk careers.

KEY STATS

4: The win improves to Seahawks to 4-2 all-time versus CCGA in West Palm Beach, Fla. 

5: Five Seahawks reached double-figures in kills (Ryelle Cox - 19, Amber Dilsaver - 18, Brooklyn VandeHei - 12, Anna Lea Kuster - 12, Cassie Cox - 10). 

6: With the win, KU improves to 6-4 all-time versus CCGA in Sun Conference action.

7: With the win, KU closes out the 2021 regular season with a 7-7 record in league action.

8: The win on Saturday was the eighth of the season for the Seahawks at home this season.

10: With 12 kills, 42 assists, and 17 digs, Brooklyn VandeHei notched her 10th triple-double of 2021.

18: Erika Magin led the Seahawks in digs with 18, increasing her season total to 557 - third-most in a single season at KU.

19: Ryelle Cox led the way offensively with a match-high 19 kills. 

42: VandeHei set a season-high in assists with 42 versus the Mariners.

72: The Seahawks set a school record for total assists with 72 on Saturday.

73: Keiser notched a season-high 73 kills in the match. It was the second-most kills by a Seahawk team in program history.

100: Head Coach James Rogers earned his 100th victory at Keiser.

.333: To go along with her match-high 19 kills, Ryelle Cox hit .333 in the match.

.424: Amber Dilsaver was efficient on the attack, hitting .424 (18 kills on 33 total attacks with just four errors).

Keiser will head to Miami Gardens, Florida, to take on the Florida Memorial Lions in the quarterfinals of the 2021 Sun Conference Volleyball Championship on Tuesday, November 9. First serve from the FMU Wellness Center is TBA.
