Panthers edged by Lady Techsters at home
The FIU women's soccer team fell in its 2021 season finale against LA Tech on Thursday night, as the Lady Techsters edged the Panthers by a score of 4-0 at FIU Soccer Stadium.
FIU played evenly against LA Tech in the opening half as the match stayed scoreless through the first 45 minutes. The Panthers had opportunities to get on the board before
halftime with three shot attempts, including two on goal, but LA Tech was able to stave off FIU's attempts. Ithaisa Vinoly recorded one save in the first period to keep a clean sheet
before the break, with the Panthers and Lady Techsters tied in the shot margin.
The Panthers remained aggressive after the intermission as they out-shot LA Tech 12-7 the rest of the way, but the Lady Techsters were able to find the back of the net on four
occasions. FIU saw its best chance to score after earning a penalty kick in the 63rd minute, but a leaping save by LA Tech's goalkeeper denied the shot attempt by Noemi Paquin.
Paquin and Jessica Magerman each tallied their most shots-on-goal of the season, with three and two, respectfully. Freshmen Farah El Tayar and Nikole Solis added two shot
attempts apiece.
Camille Sahirul, Deborah Bien-Aime, Idelys Vazquez, and Reagan Bridges all went the distance in the contest with a full 90 minutes played.
