Keiser University Athletics issued the following announcement on Oct. 14.
The Keiser women's tennis team completed day one at the ITA Cup in Rome, Ga. on Thursday. The Seahawks went 2-1 on the day with one win in singles and one in doubles play.
The highlight of opening day was the dominance of Nicole Coopersmith paired with bounce back ability of Vanja Vidanovic. Vidanovic fell to the No. 6 ranked player in NAIA at the end of last season, Selina Pichler. However, after a quick 6-3, 6-0 win for Coopersmith in singles, the duo got together and dominated in the doubles match against Carolina Guerrero and Alison Isaac, (6-1, 6-2).
Head Coach Daniel Finn had this to say, "Not bad today. Thought that we handled the situations that were put in front of us for the most part. Tomorrow is a new day and we will need to rest up and get ready"
