St. Thomas University Athletics issued the following announcement on Oct. 10.
The receiving votes St. Thomas University (STU) Football team (6-0, 3-0 MSC) keeps the streak alive against the Webber International University Warriors (0-5, 0-2). St. Thomas took the trip up to Central Florida on Saturday afternoon against the Warriors on the Webber Turf Field. The Bobcats remain undefeated to continue this historic season in just year three. St. Thomas is on an eight-game winning streak dating back to October 31, 2020 (vs. Ave Maria University).
Game Notes
St. Thomas received the kick to open up the game.
Colton Weismore scored one of three touchdowns on the day for the Bobcats.
Weismore caught a 17-yard pass from Tyler Thomas to put STU up 7-0 after Alejandro Prado's good extra point attempt.
The Bobcats closed out the first quarter with a 42-yard field goal attempt from Prado that extended the lead 10-0.
Webber would get their only score of the game off a one-yard rush on a fourth and goal.
This made the game 10-7 in the second quarter with six minutes left.
The third quarter would go down quietly as neither team found their way in the endzone.
The fourth ramped up a bit for the offense like team did against Warner last week.
The freshmen kicker gave STU some cushion with a 43-yard field goal score making it 13-7 with 13 minutes left in the game.
In the next drove the defense had two sacks in the same drive.
Devin Phillips found the Warrior quarterback on the first play of the drive moving them back five yards.
Khalil Bryan then continued to push the Webber offense back taking down the quarter back for a loss of nine-yards, making it 4th and 29.
St. Thomas took advantage of a Warrior penalty that put them at 1st and 10 on the enemy-11.
It was perfect for Samir English-Brown's 11-yard rush into the endzone.
The Bobcats extended their lead 20-7.
The final score came on the following drive as Kendall Wilson II blocked the punt and returned it for the 12-yard touchdown.
In the final drive, STU ran the clock out on eight plays to close this one out and remain undefeated.
