Republican Ana Maria Rodriguez has won her election bid for Senate District 39, defeating Democratic opponent Javier Fernandez.

Rodriguez expressed gratitude on her Facebook page on Nov. 4.

“They said it couldn’t be done. They said we would lose the seat. They said it was virtually impossible. I am a living testimony that when you put your heart, mind, soul, and every fiber of your being into your goal, NOTHING is impossible. With God, ALL things are possible!

“Blessed to announce I am now State Senator of District 39. I am so grateful to everyone who contributed support, my husband who is always by my side along with JC, my parents, my Doral Family, my Realtor Family, and last but not least, my constituents. I will represent all who live in my district, regardless of party, as I have done so during my tenure in the House of Representatives- with integrity, compassion, and respect.

“Grateful to so many for believing in me, for honoring me with your vote, your confidence, but most importantly your TRUST. I will not let you down. God bless the State of Florida and God bless the United States of America.”
