Rep. María Elvira Salazar, a member of the U.S. House of Representatives from Florida’s 27th congressional district, recently shared messages on social media highlighting both religious observance and health advocacy.
On April 5, 2026, Salazar posted bilingual Easter greetings. In Spanish, she wrote: “Ha resucitado.
En esta Pascua celebramos el triunfo de la vida, el poder de la fe y la promesa de nuevos comienzos.
Que este día bendecido llene sus corazones de alegría, sus hogares de paz y sus vidas de esperanza renovada.” On the same day in English, she stated: “He is risen.
This Easter, we celebrate the triumph of life, the power of faith, and the promise of new beginnings.
May this blessed day fill your hearts with joy, your homes with peace, and your lives with renewed hope.”
The following day, April 6, 2026, Salazar turned attention to public health awareness for Cancer Prevention Month. She wrote: “April is Cancer Prevention Month, and this is about saving lives.
Early detection can make all the difference.
That’s why I’ve backed bipartisan efforts like the SCREENS for Cancer Act, and the Nancy Gardner Sewell Medicare Multi-Cancer Early Detection Screening Coverage Act,”
Cancer Prevention Month is observed each April to raise awareness about ways to reduce cancer risk and promote early detection strategies that can improve survival rates. The SCREENS for Cancer Act and similar legislation aim to expand access to screening programs through bipartisan support in Congress.
Salazar has previously advocated for healthcare initiatives in her role as a legislator representing a diverse South Florida constituency.
