Rep. María Elvira Salazar, a member of the U.S. House of Representatives from Florida’s 27th district, used her social media account on April 13, 2026, to discuss her position on immigration reform and the DIGNITY Act.

In an initial post at 15:48 UTC, Salazar stated she had spoken with television host Brian Kilmeade to clarify her stance regarding the proposed legislation. She wrote: “Just spoke with @kilmeade, bringing clarity and facts to the national conversation on the DIGNITY Act. Accountability is the standard. Tough. Fair. NO amnesty.”

Later that day at 16:33 UTC, Salazar further explained her view in another post: “DIGNITY is the ONLY solution that fixes immigration AND empowers the goals of President Trump’s agenda. Amnesty is what we have NOW. People in the shadows. Using resources without consequences. Free roads. Free schools. Free hospitals. DIGNITY is the opposite.”

A third post made at 18:36 UTC consisted only of a link to another page: “https://t.co/YohFP8S37k”.

The DIGNITY Act has been introduced as an alternative approach to immigration reform by some members of Congress who argue that current policies allow undocumented immigrants to remain in the country without clear accountability or consequences for unauthorized use of public services.

Salazar’s comments align with ongoing debates over whether new legislative proposals should prioritize border security measures and increased enforcement while rejecting broad pathways to citizenship for those currently residing in the country unlawfully.
