Rep. María Elvira Salazar, U.S. Representative for Florida’s 27th congressional district, posted on May 26, 2026, about her participation in the groundbreaking ceremony for a new Veterans Park in Palmetto Bay. In her tweets, she highlighted both her role in securing federal funding and the significance of the project.

On May 26, Salazar wrote, “Un honor acompañar hoy al @PalmettoBayVlg en el inicio de este futuro Parque para Veteranos. Será un espacio muy especial para honrar a quienes sirvieron a nuestra nación con valentía y sacrificio. Me enorgullece haber ayudado a asegurar $200,000 en fondos federales para la”.

Later that day, she shared, “Joined the Village of Palmetto Bay today for the Veterans Park Groundbreaking Ceremony and was truly humbled to be presented with the Key to the Village. This future park will stand as a lasting tribute to the service and sacrifice of the brave men and women who defended our https://t.co/2UCwYQNzHf”.

In another tweet on May 26, Salazar stated, “Hoy acompañé al Village of Palmetto Bay en la ceremonia de inicio de construcción de este futuro Parque para Veteranos y recibí con mucha humildad la Llave del Village. Este espacio será un homenaje permanente al servicio y sacrificio de los hombres y mujeres que defendieron”.

The planned Veterans Park aims to serve as a permanent memorial honoring military service members from the community. Rep. Salazar noted that she played a part in securing $200,000 in federal funds to support its development.
