Rep. María Elvira Salazar, a member of the U.S. House of Representatives, used her Twitter account on May 14, 2026, to express support for law enforcement officers and highlight the significance of U.S.-Mexico relations.

In a tweet posted during National Police Week, Salazar stated: “En la Semana Nacional de la Policía, respaldé a los hombres y mujeres que todos los días arriesgan su vida para proteger nuestras comunidades. Apoyé medidas para enfrentar a los delincuentes violentos, exponer las peligrosas políticas de fianza sin efectivo y respaldar a” (May 14, 2026). This message was accompanied by her public backing for measures aimed at addressing violent crime and criticizing cashless bail policies.

Later the same day, Salazar shared another message that included only a link: “https://t.co/fWbwHhsijH” (May 14, 2026).

In an additional tweet on May 14, she addressed U.S.-Mexico relations: “Mexico is one of America’s most important strategic partners. What happens at our border, in our supply chains, and in the fight against the drug cartels directly impacts American families every single day. That is why I’m proud to join the bipartisan U.S.-Mexico Caucus to” (May 14, 2026).

María Elvira Salazar represents Florida’s 27th congressional district and has focused on issues including public safety and international cooperation with Mexico. The U.S.-Mexico Caucus is a bipartisan group in Congress aimed at strengthening diplomatic and economic ties between the two countries.
