Rep. María Elvira Salazar, who represents Florida’s 27th congressional district in the U.S. House of Representatives, announced recent community initiatives and recognitions through her official social media account.
On April 2, 2026, Salazar congratulated a local student for artistic achievement: “A huge congratulations to Camila Garcia from La Salle High School for winning 1st Place in the 2026 Congressional Art Competition! Your incredible work will now head to Washington, D.C. to be displayed in the U.S. Capitol tunnels for the entire year. We also want to https://t.co/QsUjCNLviR”.

Join us this Thursday, April 9 in #FL27 for our Passport Fair. No appointment needed. Whether you need a new passport, a renewal, or just guidance, my team will be there to help you every step of the way. Westchester https://t.co/3JmPqRbXyt” (posted on April 2, 2026).
She also reiterated this message in Spanish on April 2, 2026: “¿Listo para viajar este verano? Nosotros te ayudamos. The Congressional Art Competition is an annual event that encourages high school students across the nation to showcase their artistic talents; winners have their artwork displayed in the U.S. Capitol for one year as part of a program initiated by members of Congress since 1982.
Passport fairs such as those organized by Rep. Salazar’s office are designed to assist residents with obtaining or renewing passports and provide guidance on related matters without requiring appointments.
