Rep. María Elvira Salazar, a member of the U.S. House of Representatives, addressed key issues on immigration and international hostages in recent social media posts.
On October 12, 2025, Salazar publicly supported a fellow legislator’s position on immigration enforcement. She stated, “I commend @RepMTG for being realistic and having the courage to speak the truth. We cannot deport millions of good, hard-working people who build our homes and keep our economy strong. Rounding up every long-term worker would devastate America. I look forward to working together”.
The following day, Salazar expressed her reaction to the release of Eitan Horn, an individual who had been held hostage by Hamas for two years. Hoy,”.
She reiterated her sentiments in English later that day, posting, “Relieved and grateful to see Eitan Horn finally free after two long years in Hamas captivity. A few months ago, I met his brother at the Capitol, himself a former hostage who came to Washington with one mission: to fight for Eitan’s freedom. Today, that prayer has been”.
Salazar has previously engaged with families and former hostages advocating for the release of individuals held by Hamas, reflecting ongoing Congressional interest in hostage diplomacy and U.S. involvement in international humanitarian issues.
