Mayor Francis X. Suarez announced the opening of the newly renovated Manolo Reyes Park in Miami, previously known as West End Park. The event is scheduled for Wednesday, June 11, at 2:00 PM at 6030 SW 2nd Street. This celebration honors the legacy of the late Commissioner Manolo Reyes and his contributions to public service and community development.
The City of Miami has transformed the park into a space that offers various recreational amenities. The ceremony will include games, food, music, and activities suitable for families. A special tribute ceremony will also be held to honor Commissioner Reyes.
New features of the park include a swimming pool, a children’s splash pad with interactive spray features, an artificial turf sports field, a walking trail with outdoor fitness equipment, tennis courts, basketball courts, pickleball courts, and public art installations. Additionally, upgrades have been made to landscaping and irrigation systems.
Mayor Suarez commented on the significance of this renovation: “Commissioner Manolo Reyes devoted his life to improving the lives of Miamians, and this park embodies that same spirit of service, health, and family. It’s more than a renovation—it’s a reflection of his vision for a stronger, more connected community.”
Residents are encouraged to attend the event to enjoy the new facilities and celebrate Commissioner Reyes’s impact on their community.
