The National Hispanic Christian Leadership Conference (NHCLC), which represents more than 42,000 affiliated churches and millions of members, has announced its endorsement of the Dignity Act of 2025. The bill, introduced by Congresswoman María Elvira Salazar (FL-27), aims to address immigration reform in a bipartisan manner.
Pastor Samuel Rodríguez, President of the NHCLC, stated, “The Dignity Act brings an urgently needed solution to the complex state of immigration in the United States. This act respects and upholds the rule of law and provides a resolution for immigration ambiguity. We support this act because it provides a path forward for good, God-fearing, hard-working men and women who have created a life here through dedicated hard work. We applaud Congresswoman María Elvira Salazar and fully support her historic efforts to help resolve the current untenable state of immigration.”
Congresswoman Salazar expressed appreciation for the endorsement from Pastor Rodríguez and the NHCLC. She said, “I am deeply grateful to the National Hispanic Christian Leadership Conference and Pastor Samuel Rodríguez for endorsing the Dignity Act. The NHCLC is one of the strongest voices for faith, family, and freedom in America, and their support sends a clear message: fixing our immigration system is not just good policy, it’s the right thing to do. This is more than a political debate; it’s a moral calling. America can be strong and compassionate at the same time, and with partners like the NHCLC, and with God guiding our way, we will make it happen.”
Support for the Dignity Act has grown across various sectors nationwide. Nearly 50 national organizations and over 20 Members of Congress from both parties now back the legislation. Leaders from faith groups, business communities, and other organizations have called attention to what they describe as a national crisis affecting economic conditions, workforce stability, neighborhoods, and religious institutions.
The Dignity Act of 2025 proposes measures intended to restore order at U.S. borders while strengthening workforce participation and supporting American families. The bill seeks to balance enforcement with providing pathways for individuals who contribute to society through work.
