The City of Miami has announced its inclusion in CDP’s 2024 A-List, recognizing the city for its leadership in climate transparency and action. This distinction places Miami among the top-performing cities globally, with only 112 out of nearly 1,000 cities achieving an “A” score. In the United States, Miami is one of 29 cities to receive this recognition and stands alone as Florida’s representative.
This achievement marks a step forward from the previous year when Miami earned an A-. The upgrade reflects ongoing progress in areas such as climate adaptation, mitigation, and data transparency.
CDP is known for operating the world’s only independent environmental disclosure system. In 2024, it revised its scoring criteria to be more stringent. Consequently, Miami’s high score under these new standards highlights its efforts in managing climate risks and implementing strategies for sustainability.
