Rep. María Elvira Salazar, U.S. Representative for Florida’s 27th congressional district, posted a series of messages on social media reflecting on the death of Charlie Kirk and commemorating the anniversary of September 11.
On September 10, 2025, Salazar addressed the passing of conservative activist Charlie Kirk in a post stating, “Charlie Kirk died a hero. He was a true warrior, assassinated for his ideas and for fighting for what he believed in.
We didn’t agree on everything, but in America no one should ever be targeted for their beliefs.
He spent his life teaching young people on campuses, daring them” (September 10, 2025).
The following day marked the anniversary of the September 11 attacks.
(September 11, 2025).
She also published an English-language tribute: “Today we remember the nearly 3,000 lives lost on September 11, 2001. We honor their lives, salute the heroes who rose to the moment, and reflect on the resilience of the American spirit.
America was tested, but our spirit did not break and we will never forget.” (September 11, 2025).
The remarks come as part of Rep. Salazar’s ongoing engagement with national events and public figures through her official channels. As background: María Elvira Salazar has represented Florida’s Miami-based district since January 2021 after winning election in November 2020.
