U.S. Representative María Elvira Salazar, who represents Florida’s 27th congressional district, used her Twitter account to highlight both international and local initiatives in early May 2026.
On May 5, Salazar praised Senator Marco Rubio’s leadership on Latin American issues, especially regarding Cuba. In her post, she stated: “De Miami al escenario mundial, el @SecRubio hoy lidera una nueva era para América Latina y mantiene viva la esperanza de una Cuba libre. Y una vez más, deja al descubierto la gran mentira del régimen. Durante décadas, la dictadura cubana culpó al ‘bloqueo’ mientras sobrevivía” (May 5, 2026).
The following day, Salazar promoted an employment initiative for constituents in Florida’s 27th district. On May 6, she wrote: “FL27! Looking for a new job or a career opportunities? Join us for our annual Job Fair on May 27th at the Miami Dade College Padrón Campus! My team and I are bringing 60+ top employers directly to you. WHEN: May 27 | 10AM – 2PM Where: MDC Padrón Campus (Building 6” (May 6, 2026). She reiterated this message in Spanish the same day: “¡AtenciónFL27! ¿Necesitas empleo o estás buscando una nueva oportunidad profesional? Acompáñanos en nuestra Feria de Empleo anual el 27 de mayo en el Miami Dade College, Padrón Campus! Mi equipo y yo traeremos a más de 60 de los mejores empleadores directamente para ti.” (May 6, 2026).
María Elvira Salazar has been serving as the U.S. Representative for Florida’s District 27 since January 2021 and is known for her advocacy on issues related to Latin America and community engagement through local events.
