U.S. Representative María Elvira Salazar, who represents Florida’s 27th congressional district, highlighted the importance of Affordable Care Act (ACA) credits for her constituents in a series of posts on December 5, 2025.
In one tweet, Salazar stated, “More than 230,000 people in Miami, one-third of my district, rely on ACA credits as a lifeline to afford healthcare. I hear their concerns, and I am committed to protecting their coverage, keeping costs predictable, and ensuring Miami families can access the affordable, quality” (posted December 5, 2025).
She also addressed her Spanish-speaking constituents with a similar message: “Más de 230,000 personas en Miami, un tercio de mi distrito. dependen de los créditos de la ACA como un salvavidas para poder pagar su atención médica. Escucho sus preocupaciones y sigo comprometida a proteger su cobertura, mantener los costos predecibles y asegurar que las” (posted December 5, 2025).

The ACA provides subsidies to help eligible Americans purchase health insurance coverage through state or federal marketplaces. These subsidies are especially significant in districts like Florida’s 27th—covering much of Miami—where large numbers of residents depend on them to maintain access to healthcare services.
