Rep. María Elvira Salazar, U.S. Representative for Florida’s 27th congressional district, shared updates on immigration reform and local sports achievements in a series of posts on her official Twitter account this week.
The following day, Salazar celebrated Inter Miami’s victory in Major League Soccer: “MLS CUP CHAMPIONSSSS! Congratulations to Inter Miami for bringing the first MLS Cup home! Miami shines brighter than ever. What a moment for our fans, our community, and the sport we love. We know ball in the 305!” She reiterated her congratulations in Spanish with another post on December 6: “¡CAMPEONES DE LA MLS!
The “Ley Dignidad,” or Dignity Act, is an immigration reform bill introduced by Rep. Salazar that seeks to provide legal status and a path to citizenship for undocumented immigrants while strengthening border security measures. The legislation has received bipartisan attention as lawmakers debate comprehensive immigration solutions.
Inter Miami’s win marks their first Major League Soccer Cup title since joining the league in 2020, representing a significant milestone for both the team and South Florida soccer fans.
