Rep. María Elvira Salazar, U.S. Representative for Florida’s 27th congressional district, commented on international relations and interfaith meetings in a series of posts on May 7, 2026.
In her first post, Salazar highlighted the significance of a meeting between Secretary Rubio and Pope Francis at the Vatican. She wrote, “Un momento poderoso en el escenario mundial.

Later that day, Salazar addressed diplomatic ties between Israel and Panama. In English she stated, “Good to see Israel connecting with its democratic allies across the hemisphere.
She reiterated this sentiment in Spanish: “Bueno ver a Israel fortaleciendo lazos con aliados democráticos en el hemisferio.
Alianzas como estas fortalecen la lucha contra el antisemitismo y ayudan a proteger a las comunidades judías en toda la región.” (May 7, 2026).
Salazar has been an advocate for strong U.S.-Israel relations and efforts to combat antisemitism both domestically and internationally.
