Rep. María Elvira Salazar, who represents Florida’s 27th congressional district, shared updates and greetings to her constituents through a series of posts on social media in mid-August 2025.
On August 14, Salazar addressed students, teachers, and parents as the new school year began. She wrote: “¡Feliz primer día de clases a todos los estudiantes, maestros y padres de familia del Distrito 27! Ustedes son el futuro de nuestra comunidad y de esta gran nación. ‘La filosofía del aula en una generación será la filosofía de gobierno en la siguiente.’ — Abraham Lincoln Que”.
The following day, August 15, Salazar highlighted her office’s efforts to assist constituents with federal agencies. In an English-language post she stated: “My Office works tirelessly to get results for YOU. We’ve resolved 1,661 cases, that means families reunited, Social Security checks delivered, veterans’ benefits unlocked, and much more. Whether it’s the IRS, immigration, Medicare, or any other Washington red tape, my team”.
Shortly after this message was posted in English on August 15, Salazar published a similar update in Spanish: “Mi oficina trabaja incansablemente para obtener resultados para TI. Hemos resuelto 1,661 casos — eso significa familias reunidas, cheques del Seguro Social entregados, beneficios para veteranos desbloqueados y mucho más. Ya sea con el IRS, inmigración, Medicare o cualquier otra”.
Salazar has served as the U.S. Representative for Florida’s 27th district since January 2021 and is known for her bilingual outreach to constituents in Miami-Dade County.
