U.S. Representative María Elvira Salazar has highlighted ongoing efforts to reform the immigration system through a series of posts on her social media account in mid-March 2026. Salazar, who represents Florida’s 27th congressional district, referenced progress made on the bipartisan Dignity Act (H.R. 4393) and cited support from local law enforcement officials.
On March 17, Salazar posted that significant reforms advocated by her office are gaining traction: “Momentum is building behind reforms we’ve been leading on: 3 of the 5 measures in the White House letter to DHS are already included in the bipartisan #DignityAct (H.R. 4393). Protect sensitive locations like churches, schools, and hospitals (Sec. 1122) Require ICE body https://t.co/7faeNCL3M3”.
Later that day, she shared comments from Polk County Sheriff Grady Judd regarding challenges faced by law enforcement at the border: “El @PolkCoSheriff lo dijo claro: En el terreno, nuestras fuerzas del orden están enfrentando un sistema migratorio que no está funcionando. Dijo que esto es responsabilidad del Congreso. Y tiene razón. Gracias, Sheriff Judd, por traer sentido común a esta conversación. Eso es https://t.co/LdwYhAIsxh” (March 17).
A subsequent post on March 18 included only a link without additional commentary: “https://t.co/aFQFMcAjsr”.
The Dignity Act (H.R. 4393), referenced by Salazar in her statements, is a bipartisan immigration reform bill introduced to address various aspects of U.S. immigration policy including border security and pathways for undocumented immigrants to gain legal status.
Sheriff Grady Judd of Polk County has previously voiced concerns about current federal immigration policies and their impact on local law enforcement agencies.
