Rep. María Elvira Salazar, U.S. Representative for Florida’s 27th congressional district, has recently addressed a range of issues on her official Twitter account, including national security, youth service opportunities, and wildlife conservation.
On September 2, 2025, Salazar expressed support for recent actions by federal officials regarding crime and national security. She wrote: “BRAVO @SecRubio and @potus. ZERO TOLERANCE for terrorist, traffickers and gang members. Let this be a lesson to all the thugs around the world, your days undermining the USA and pumping our streets with drugs and crime are over.”
The following day, on September 3, 2025, Salazar invited students from her district to consider applying to U.S. Service Academies. In her post she stated: ” Students of District 27 have you felt the call to serve your country? Now’s your chance! Come learn about the nomination process to one of America’s prestigious Service Academies, the institutions that forge the next generation of leaders! October 30 5:30 PM https://t.co/O8gGlEV2VD” The nomination process is an important step for students seeking admission to these federally funded institutions that train future military officers.
On September 4, 2025, Salazar marked National Wildlife Day by highlighting her legislative efforts in conservation. She posted: “Happy National Wildlife Day! I’ve been a proud leader for our wildlife in Congress, from protecting the endangered Florida Panther to safeguarding our migratory birds. From the Florida Everglades to the Smoky Mountains, I will never stop defending the wild treasures that make” The Florida Panther is listed as an endangered species and ongoing conservation efforts are critical for its survival.
Salazar has represented Florida’s 27th district since January 2021 and serves on several House committees relevant to foreign affairs and environmental policy.
